From the President

Richard M. Wiermanski

Dear members and friends,

I am proud of being elected your new president of the Friends of John Paul II Foundation Chapter based in Washington, DC. First of all, I thank all who voted for me and the slate consisting of vice presidents, officers, directors, and committee members who were elected.

We all will work to increase the membership in the Friends of JPII Foundation by reaching out to the community, through offering events of interest to those who are interested learning more about the Saint John Paul II. Attending and participating in school fairs to reach teachers of our young scholars so that they may know more about his life and teachings, and pass this information on through their teachings, is a must. Books and educational needs were placed in each school library. Manning the booth at the Religious Educators Conference were Zofia Dunian, Linda Luch, and John and Marianna Eckel.

Good news!

Poland a Portrait of the Country Through Its Festivals and Traditions, 2nd Edition, came off the press in time for gift giving this Christmas. The work created in partnership with the Polish American Arts Association of Washington, DC, the Kosciuszko Foundation, and the Foreign Ministry of Poland. Spearheaded by Cecilia Glembocki, this book should be distributed to various libraries, schools, and organizations.

Future board meetings will be held at the John Paul II Shrine on January 27, April 21, September 15, and November 17 in 2018. All meetings will start at 9:00 am.

If you are not a member, come join us in this worldwide endeavor to spread the life of Saint John Paul II.

May the gift of joy and the blessing of peace be yours this Christmas and in the new year

Wishing all “Wesolych Swiat Bozego Narodzenia I Szczesliwego Nowego Roku.
